Professional Recording Studio in Los Angeles Since 2017
How It Started: Los Angeles, 2014
In 2014, Konstantin Podyachev moved to California with his family, leaving behind an established career to start over in one of the most competitive creative markets in the world. He had multiple degrees and years of experience in audio production — but no industry connections in the United States, no studio, and no clients. For the first two years he worked whatever jobs he could find to survive, while the idea of building a studio that could genuinely serve independent artists refused to leave him.
First Studio: Hollywood, 2016
In 2016, with his family temporarily back in Russia and himself living in a small bare studio space in Hollywood, Podyachev converted that space into the first Union Recording Studio. It was a minimal operation — but it was real, it was professional, and it was open to artists who couldn't afford the rates that most LA studios were charging. The demand was immediate. Artists who had been priced out of professional recording found a place that met their needs without compromising on sound quality.
MIX Recording Studio Opens: Los Angeles, 2017
MIX Recording Studio opened at 539 S Rampart Blvd in Los Angeles in 2017, becoming the flagship studio of what would grow into a multi-brand recording operation. Where Union had proven that affordable, professional recording was viable in LA, MIX was built to take that further: more rooms, better gear, 24/7 hours, and an engineering team capable of working across every genre and session type. The studio's central location — in the Westlake neighborhood, 1.5 miles from Downtown Los Angeles and accessible from the 10 and 101 freeways — made it reachable for artists from every part of the city.
Growth: Three Brands, One Mission
From that original Hollywood studio, Podyachev built three distinct recording brands: Union Recording Studio, ZOOM Recording Studio, and MIX Recording Studio. Each operates independently with its own location, identity, and client base — but all share the same founding principle: that independent artists deserve access to the same quality of recording infrastructure as those signed to major labels, at prices that don't require a label deal to afford.
Today, our Company has expanded to several locations, including our latest state-of-the-art facility in Los Angeles. Each studio is designed with the artist in mind, offering unique spaces that foster creativity and ensure that every recording session is productive and inspiring. The Los Angeles facility includes a dedicated live band recording setup — capable of tracking up to 6 musicians simultaneously — alongside individual recording rooms, a podcast studio, Dolby Atmos mixing suite, and voiceover production facilities. As we continue to grow, Our Mission remains the same.

What MIX Recording Studio Stands For
MIX Recording Studio was built on three principles: equality, integrity, and excellence. Equality means independent artists get access to the same professional-grade equipment and engineering expertise that major label acts have always had — at transparent, published rates with no hidden fees. Integrity means the studio operates with honest pricing, clear ownership rights, and no pressure to upsell. Excellence means the work speaks for itself: every session that leaves MIX is held to the same standard regardless of budget or genre. Founder Konstantin Podyachev started this studio without industry connections or backing — only the conviction that professional recording should be accessible to anyone with something worth saying. That conviction still drives every decision the studio makes.
