Band Recording Studio in Los Angeles — Play Together, Sound Professional

MIX Recording Studio offers full band recording in Los Angeles — your whole band, playing live, in one session, tracked with full separation so every instrument sounds exactly the way it should. Up to 6 musicians simultaneously. A professional drum kit on-site. Elite engineers who know how to run a band session from load-in to stems. Parking on premises. Open 24/7. From $128/hr with a 4-hour minimum.

Most studios in LA make bands layer their parts one at a time. At MIX, you play together — because that's when bands sound like themselves.

Why Bands Record Live — And Why It Sounds Better

When a band records one instrument at a time, you get clean tracks. When a band records together, you get a performance.

The difference is audible. The way a drummer pushes the tempo when the guitar comes in. The way a bassist locks with the kick. The way a vocalist phrases differently when the whole band is in the room. These things disappear when you layer parts in isolation — and no amount of editing brings them back.

MIX is set up for live band recording. Your drummer, guitarist, bassist, keys player — everyone plays at once, fully separated, fully isolated, so there's no bleed between instruments and no compromise on the mix. You get the live energy and the studio control. That's the point.

Band Recording for Rock, Hip-Hop, and Latin Artists in Los Angeles

Rock, Alternative & Indie Bands

If your band's sound comes from playing together — the tension between instruments, the way the drummer and the guitarist push each other — you already know that one-at-a-time layering kills it. This is the setup for bands that need to perform to sound right. Loud, dynamic, live-feel rock recording in Los Angeles without major-studio rates.

Hip-Hop Groups & Collectives

Group sessions run differently from solo sessions. More people, more energy, more performance dynamics happening simultaneously. Multiple artists can be in both rooms at once, each with their own headphone mix hearing the beat the way they need to perform. Whether you're tracking a full posse cut, recording multiple features in one block, or building an EP with your crew — we know how to run a multi-artist session efficiently.

Latin Bands — Cumbia, Norteño, Banda

Los Angeles is one of the largest Latin music markets in the United States, and most recording studios here aren't built for live Latin band recording. Cumbia groups, norteño ensembles, and banda arrangements don't work layered one instrument at a time — the feel, the rhythm, the conversation between musicians only exists when everyone plays together.

MIX handles up to 6 musicians simultaneously with full separation. We have engineers with Latin session experience who understand what the final mix needs to sound like. If you're a Latin band in Los Angeles looking for a studio that actually knows how to track your music — this is it. We're one of the very few independent studios in LA equipped for it.

How a Band Recording Session at MIX Works

1. BOOK YOUR BLOCK
Choose your date and hours at mixrecordingstudio.com. Minimum 4 hours. We recommend 6 hours for bands tracking 5–7 songs — enough time for setup, full run-throughs, and a rough mix pass before you leave.

2. ARRIVE + LOAD IN
Parking is on premises. Bring your instruments — the drum kit, mic package, and ProTools are ready. Your engineer meets you, walks through the session plan, and gets everyone set up.

3. SOUND CHECK (included in your booked time)
Your engineer sets individual levels and builds a custom headphone mix for each musician. Plan 45–60 minutes for a full band — factor it into your booking. A well-prepared sound check makes everything that follows faster.

4. TRACK LIVE
Everyone plays at once. Your engineer calls takes, manages the session, and guides the process without getting in the way of the music. Re-takes are fast — no tearing down and rebuilding between instruments.

5. LEAVE WITH YOUR STEMS
At the end of the session you receive full WAV or AIFF stems for every tracked instrument, ready for mixing. Need a mix pass? Book a follow-up session with your engineer. Need Dolby Atmos mastering? We do that too.
