Where Every Track Gets the Mix It Deserves
MIX Recording Studio is a full-service mixing studio in Los Angeles, built for artists and producers who want a polished, release-ready sound. Our mixing engineers work in acoustically treated rooms with professional monitoring chains, analog-modeled processing, and years of credits across hip hop, R&B, pop, rock, and Latin genres. Whether you recorded here or tracked somewhere else, we handle your mix from stem import to final print.
We operate 24/7 at 539 S Rampart Blvd in the Westlake neighborhood of Los Angeles, minutes from Koreatown, Downtown LA, and Hollywood. The building has on-site parking and sessions can start the same day you book.
What a Mixing Session at MIX Looks Like
You send us your stems or bring them to the session. Our mixing engineers load everything into Avid Pro Tools (latest version), organize the session, and start building the mix with you in the room or over a live stream. Most clients sit in during the first pass so they can give real-time feedback on vocal levels, low-end balance, spatial effects, and overall tone.
From there, the engineer works through the full frequency spectrum: cleaning up bleed, setting gain staging, applying EQ, compression, saturation, and time-based effects. We use UAD Powered Plug-Ins alongside the Universal Audio Apollo 8 and Apollo x8 Thunderbolt interfaces, giving us access to console-grade processing at every stage. Final mixes print through calibrated Yamaha NS10 and Dynaudio LYD 8 monitors with a KRK 10S Powered Subwoofer for low-end reference.
Revisions are part of the process. If you want a second pass the next day or need specific adjustments for a label submission, we keep your session on file and pick up exactly where you left off.
Gear and Monitoring Chain
Every mixing room at MIX is built around gear that delivers consistent, translatable results across playback systems. The signal chain starts with Universal Audio Apollo 8 and Apollo x8 Thunderbolt interfaces and runs through the Universal Audio 710 Twin Preamp for additional analog character when tracking or re-amping during the mix.
Monitoring is handled by Yamaha NS10s (the industry benchmark for midrange translation), Dynaudio LYD 8s for extended frequency response, and a KRK 10S Powered Subwoofer for accurate low-end decisions. Microphones on hand for overdubs and vocal touch-ups during mix sessions include the Neumann U87, Neumann TLM103, AKG C 414 XLS/ST matched pair, and Shure SM57.

Dolby Atmos Mixing
MIX is one of the few independent studios in Los Angeles equipped for Dolby Atmos mixing. Our 7.1.4 speaker configuration lets us place instruments, vocals, and effects in three-dimensional space, creating immersive mixes that meet the delivery specs for Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, and Netflix.
Dolby Atmos mixes are priced at $399 per song. If you need both Atmos and stereo mixing and mastering, the bundle is $599 per song. Sessions are handled by a Grammy-nominated engineer with Atmos-certified delivery experience.
Full details on the format, workflow, and ordering are on our Dolby Atmos mixing and mastering page.

Same engineers, same gear, same room. The only difference is you are not sitting in the chair next to us.
